Unit 2: The Achilles Heel

Our body despite being a strong and resistant structure may suffer some changes. Between each of the activities we do every day, our body is worn causing some injuries such as Achilles tendon (which is located in the back of the leg, reaching the back of the foot) that can occur in any time. Suffering one of these injuries is a limitation to the patient, as it produces pain and decreased when walking, and the recovery time is very slow and it can take weeks, months or even years.

So that compared different types of rehabilitation in order to obtain a therapy approach to the treatment of Achilles tendon in the shortest time possible, making the patient's return to their daily activities. They also, search for preventive measures to help reduce these injuries. Injuries can occur at any time, causing an inability to perform our daily activities. Injuries to the Achilles tendon can be prevented by having a proper warm before starting a sport, try to find a comfortable shoe, be constant play sports and try to do daily stretching this tendon.

Injuries to the Achilles tendon are common in so-called "weekend athletes" who do not do sport continuously, but in very specific moments. So we must implement all precautions we can, because this injury is very painful and difficult for us our daily lives, avoid reaching the surgery to not suffer this way.
